“Thumper”
Johnny Rose “aka Thumper” was born on August 08th 2017. This young huacaya is fast and agile and his face just makes you smile with his white button nose so prominent and noticeable.. He has amazing medium rose grey fleece that is very fine with a high frequency crimp. He’s has wonderful conformation for a young adult and a prefect bite with nice straight legs.
JR is a little timid and does prefer not to be handled or touched. Johnny Rose came to us from Connecticut under a rehoming situation. Upon his arrival, we had to make a tough decision to move him from his mom’s side to the male barn area to prevent the possibly of an inbred pregnancy. This was a tough transition for him in addition to the Connecticut move from the only home he knew. Being with mom for almost two years and having to separate him was a heart-breaking ordeal for all involved. We did move him initially where he could see mom but the separation was tough on this little guy for the first 6 months. He has adjusted to his new found friends but people trust is slow paced and we are ok with that.
He’s inquisitive but leery and we are working on gaining his trust but it is a slow process. He prefers to move at his own pace and we are committed to that pace along with making sure he feels no pressure. He will come to see what we have in hand but will not hand feed but he’s close. We continue to work with him and our hope is that we can build a warmth and trust for him. He’s got the most beautiful big brown eyes and that little white nose just warms our hearts.
